Symptoms - Plague Inc. | Main |

Manual: Symptoms - Plague Inc.

This is Chroma Gaming's Manual for Symptoms in the strategy game: Plague Inc.

This manual includes everything that you need to know to master the game Plague Inc by Ndemic Creations.

A display of symptoms in the game plague inc.
Symptoms are "unlocked" when you purchase a "path" symptom.
Then from there on you unlock more useful, and deadly symptoms the farther you get into the game.

1. General Guide - Basic Strategy

This is a very "basic" guide. This means that it will not work 100% and is just to teach you the basics of symptoms. The rest of this manual will work 100%, if done correctly. But this general guide is for educational, not game-play purposes.

Starting Out. (Experienced Players May Skip)

Once you have selected
A Plague Type    then  Game Difficulty   and typed you  Plague Name (ElderGeek)
you select your  DNA Code
and hit start!

Welcome To Plague Inc.!
After touching a country, your disease will start in patient 0.

The picture to the right displays my disease "ElderGeek" starting in USA.

Collect DNA points, and play the game.

Symptoms Role (Experienced Players May Skip)

Symptoms are one of the three important places you spend "DNA" points in the game.

They change your disease by altering how it effects its infected.
Each symptom is a "trait" of your disease and allows for different effects to happen in the humans that come across your disease.

"Core Disease Stats" are increased through purchasing or "evolving" symptoms.
The three Core Stats are:
// Infectivity // Severity // Lethality //

We will touch on all three later on, scroll down in the manual to view or click here.

How To Evovle

Increase Infectiviy:

Start out by increasing infectivity. This is important. You want to infect everyone in the world, or else you will not be able to kill them and complete the plague.

Infectivity can be increased very early in the game by purchasing one of the "Path Traits" as I call them.
"Path Traits" is not a official term, it is just my name for naming strategies.

The 5 path traits are:

   Coughing Path

          Nausea Path

          Rash Path

          Insomnia Path

Cyst Path - (Not in here, part of next path)

          Anemia Path

Gain Points, Kill Steady

DNA points are important. Save them to buy more symptoms.

Transmission and Abilities are very important in the game as well, DO NOT FORGET to use them as well as symptoms. This is a manual for symptoms only, so this guide focuses primary on the title; this makes it not a 100% guide.

When you have infected most of the world with traits like:
coughing, sneezing, pneumonia, nausea, vomiting, ect.

Then you can start destroying the human race, one country at a time.
The more effective symptoms to focus on are:

Total Organ Failure (Quickest Deaths)
Coma (Quick Deaths)
Insanity (Slows cure, increases transmissions, causes deaths)
Necrosis (Dead bodies spread disease, normal speed deaths)
Fever (For poor countries)
Immune Suppression (For Rich Countries)

Up to 60% infected in the world you want to keep your infection rate higher than your death rate at all costs.
If not, you may wipe yourself out by killing all of your hosts before the world is entirely infected.

Do not worry about this past 70-80%.

This is the end of the basic strategy part of symptoms. If you would like to add, leave a comment; I"ll give you credit and a link to your facebook page, twitter account, website, blog, ect.

2. Choosing a Symptom Path

Now you must choose your symptom path! There are 6 total paths you may take, the path is usually decided by the first symptom you buy; and are named after the first symptom in the "path of traits.

If you buy Nausea first, it doesnt mean you use the "Nausea Path". The path you use, you decide by the amount of traits you have bought. If you have 4 traits from the Coughing Path, but started with 2 Rash Path Traits, 3 Insomnia Traits, and have cysts;

you would have started with the Rash Path of traits but now are following the "river" or path" of Coughing.

The 6 Paths:

 Coughing Path
          Nausea Path
          Rash Path
          Insomnia Path
          Cyst Path
          Anemia Path
