Starting Out Tips | Plague Inc.

Casual Starting:

Start in China. Over a Billion people to infect in one country and you will get lots of DNA points early in the game.

Do not evolve lethal symptoms and at the beginning of the game focus mainly on transmissions and symptoms such as coughing, sneezing & sweating.

Having trouble with islands? Greenland?

Buy Water 1, Water 2, Air 1, Air 2 and Extreme Bio aerosol

For Greenland & Iceland, New Zealand & Europe buy:

Cold 1
Cold 2
Bird 1
Bird 2

To get the most DNA points the quickest, but transmissions first; symptoms later.

Normal Starting:

Start in China. Over a Billion people to infect in one country and you will get lots of DNA points early in the game.

The same basics as Casual Starting.
But..

Start killing slowly when you infect half the world.
Spread to different countries as fast as you can, early on with
Bird 1
Bird 2
&
Water 1, Water 2
Air 1, Air 2

Sweating & Hypersensitivity are good to get as soon as you can.

Brutal Starting:

Buy a few less transmissions than Casual and a couple more symptoms.
Try to keep 20 DNA points on you at all times.

Go unseen for as long as you can.

Start in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Iceland or China.
Saudi Arabia is the most effective on Brutal; you are able to travel to more countries, quicker.

Watch the cure early on, and buy insomnia as soon as you can along with Genetic Hardening 1.
